Clement Marriott, C.E.O and Founder, says the UzaSale platform creates a new way of selling and buying for the Tanzania community that goes along with the new technology and time.

With twenty years of experience in the USA market, the online platform was launched today in Dar es Salaam as part of supporting President SamiaSuluhu Hassan call to encourage Tanzanians living abroad to invest in Tanzania.

Marriott says the company is fully dedicated to the Tanzania market, with big plans to serve not only the major cities, but also rural areas.

“Just stay tuned as we are just getting started. Remember, we are disrupting the landscape and changing the way of doing business by creating efficiency and supporting the common man, at low cost. UzaSale is putting your business in your palm,” says Mr. Marriott.

Mr. Marriot asserted that; “We want to create jobs by providing a platform that helps those who could not afford renting a store at the mall, by providing them with a mall on their palm at a very low cost. UzaSale charges a very small and affordable monthly fee of Sh.10,000 for our entry package and for our premium package of Sh.20,000 per month”.

“Our driving motivation is to create jobs for anyone who has a business and struggling to find a market or can’t afford higher store rental prices. UzaSale is a platform that brings your goods to the customers and the customers to you. We remove the barrier of location as your business will be viewed by millions across the country,” he says.

According to Mr. Marriott, Tanzania is one of the countries that started using a mobile phone as a bank long before USA.

“I lived in USA for thirty years and the first time I saw people using mobile money was in Tanzania. Tanzanians are used to doing business transactions on the phone. UzaSale.com will not be a far stretch but just an extension of where the world is going and where Tanzania has led when it comes to mobile financial transactions. Countries like USA have been using technologies similar to UzaSale for years even though they started way behind Tanzania on handling mobile money transactions,” he said.

He says anybody with established businesses whether it be electronics or cars, or real estate and they are looking to sell, or rent is the company’s targeted clients.

“Any individual who is looking to make quick money and has a used phone, a used TV, a used handbag, used furniture if they are upgrading, is also our potential client. Basically, UzaSale creates a bridge and connects our clients with customers. UzaSale.com is the marketplace,” he says.

The company is offering a service for classified online advertising through bringing customers closer to people who are publishing their businesses on the portal.

He further notes; “Our motto is “biasharakiganjani”. We are also bringing to normal Tanzanians a way to shop and get their everyday needs from the palm of their hands. This means a person can, from the comfort of their homes, search and buy whatever they need right from our portal. They will be able to see the items that they are looking for, contact the seller, negotiate the price, agree on where to meet to exchange goods, and pay only after they have seen the items and verified it is what they are looking for”.

“Our company has partnered with Airtel Money, Vodacom M-Pesa and TigoPesa as our payment gateway partners for our customers.”

“Our commitment is to our brand, to be the leading brand in Tanzania that provides cutting-edge technology at a very affordable price,” he concluded.
